An exercise in careful composition.  The umbrellas with their curved forms contrast with the mostly grid like pattern of the surrounding architecture with its straight vertical and horizontal lines

Minimalist black and white winter landscapes of Hokkaido might be something of a cliche. Regardless, such scenes draw the eye and compel you to take a photo!

The image shows a flowering vine growing along a solid timber upright.  The timber is painted black and hence provides quite a contrast.

After the fire.

Victoria’s bushfires of 2009, caused destruction on a scale not previously witnessed in Australia. It did however provide some scenes of eerie beauty.

Coastline Maui

A four-shot stitched panoramic of the Maui coast. The four frames were taken from the deck of a boat with all camera settings set in manual mode for consistency.
