Faces of Haridwar

Continuing our journey through India (in April of this year) took us to the town of Haridwar on the River Ganges, further upstream from Varanasi.   We spent several days in the town witnessing the Kumbh Mela festival at which millions of Hindu pilgrims gather.   This festival held every 3 years at one of 4 cities in India is regarded as the greatest single gathering of people anywhere in the world for a single event or festival.   People travel from all over India to attend, some travelling for several days to get to the location.

I’ve provided a small selection of shots here by way of a slideshow, these are part of a growing India gallery
