Following on from last post, I present the same series of images only this time in monochrome. I have chosen to use a sepia toning at a slightly higher strength to previously, in this case I think it works well.
Visible from Space?
How many times have we heard that the Great Wall of China is the only man made structure visible from space? This statement has been repeated so many times that many people are unshakeable in believing it. One of the things about the wall which strikes any visitor, is just how narrow the wall is. In many parts the wall is only wide enough for people to walk 4 or 5 abreast, in other words, not as wide as a typical suburban street. Add to that, the wall in many parts is almost indistinguishable due to disrepair and destruction over hundreds of years. Given all this, the “visible from space” claim is clearly nonsense.
