The graffitist’s lair

Following on from the artwork of the last post, today “artwork” of a different type. Still in Ushuaia, Argentina, but today’s photos could have been taken in any number of towns or cities. Walking around town I found an abandoned house, derelict but easily accessible. The building, with its roof long gone, had obviously become the playground of graffitists with their tags and discarded spray cans everywhere. I must admit to having mixed feelings about their efforts. On the one hand, it can be seen as mindless vandalism but in this instance, the building is only fit for a wrecker’s ball anyway.

Like a tombstone. The remains of a mattress stand among the weeds.

Discarded spray cans. Weeds growing through what was the floor.

What remains of services into the building, disused electrical fitting.
