Little Egret, Okavango Delta, Botswana

A Little Egret wading through the shallows of the Okavango Delta makes a beautiful split toned monochrome subject.

Waterlillies are a common sight on the channels and lagoons of the Okavango Delta. The choice of such a long lens may seem a bit odd for a botanical subject such as this however, in this instance, it worked out well.

Shortly after sunrise in the Okavango Delta,  a young male lion patrols his territory providing some excellent photo opportunities.

The African Jacana is one of numerous bird species to be seen on the pools and lagoons of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

Malachite Kingfisher

The beautiful Malachite Kingfisher can frequently be seen perched on and flying between, reeds at the water’s edge in the Okavango Delta.

Lava Gull, Galapagos Islands.

The Lava Gull, or Larus fuliginosus, is found only in the Galapagos.  It’s believed that there are only about 400 pairs left in the wild.
