The lesser whistling duck (Dendrocygna javanica) is also known as Indian whistling duck and breeds across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It has a wide distribution range and is believed to have a secure global population of between two and twenty million individuals. It is not considered a threatened species.
