I can’t help it, I love reflections which is about the only justification for today’s image. Taken in the Cafe Batavia in the historic northern part of central Jakarta. Built in the late 19th century it is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The interiors recall a bygone era with numerous old posters and early 20th century film star photos, it’s a rather genteel escape from the heat outside.
After looking at the colour version, I decided to go with the black and white treatment. It’s worth looking closely at the reflections to pick out the details of the room.
