Early morning and the sun was just rising near Kwetsani camp in the Okavango Delta, when we observed this beautiful young male lion walking through long grass patrolling his territory. Our guides guessed that he was probably about 2 years old and he was quite unconcerned by the presence of our safari vehicle. In the excitement of such a wonderful sighting, I unknowingly knocked the control dial on the back of the camera, accidentally dialling in nearly 3 stops of under exposure! <grimace> It is testament to the capabilities of digital that I was able to recover a considerable amount of detail even in the shadows and achieve an acceptable image. (update 26.7.15) Indeed this image has garnered far more feedback than any other image I have posted on the internet.
