Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, India.

A quick handful of photos from this renowned bird sanctuary and wetland.    Processed quickly on the laptop computer,  I consider these to be some “early drafts” from a morning spent in the sanctuary.   I hope to post further images in the days and weeks ahead.   ~KD.

Formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary,  Keoladeo National Park in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India is a famous wildlife sanctuary and habitat for thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. With over 350 resident bird species, it was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971 and now a World Heritage Site. Covering 29 square kilometres, the reserve was originally man-made for waterfowl hunting but today is a magnet for ornithologists in addition to providing flood protection for the near town of Bharatpur.
